These must be common, even so the mottled one looks interesting. Naturally, I don't know what they are but I have discovered a reasonable website I will start using.

Ringlet
Hi Guys
Another location for Ringlet, Nefyn beach ! I spent 15 mins following a small dark butterfly up and down Nefyn beach on Tuesday until it finally settled and its identity was revealed. Talk about a let down, I had been hoping for a small fritillary of some description ! Not done much apart from work so far but we did have a female Bee Moth settle in the caravan on Sunday night when we sat down for a drink on the patio.
Anyone got a decent Ringlet image I can borrow for my blog !
PS Watch the North Wales news tomorrow night and see the launch of the Anglesea Lifeboat in response to Sues 999 call to the coast guard about a possible Reggie Perrin/ John Stonehouse on Nefyn beach this morning!

Blackneck
Now I know that this Blackneck looks to be falling in bits (well not only looks it is!) but I believe it is a pretty rare moth in Yorkshire, are there any other local records?

Now for something that does make a good picture, I also had this Buff Arches last night

is anyone else having lots of Snout, I have had eight in one night this week

I'm also getting a few Small Fan-foot this year

don't be put off by the poor weather, I often find the good Moths turn up in poor conditions

lots of meadow browns
Marsh Lane to Sunny Bank Farm
1 Yellow shell
Fields between Sunny Bank Farm and Sunny Vale
Meadow brown

All of the above in large numbers, I estimated at least 50 plus of each species. It might be worth having a look at these fields in more details.

Also found a strange moth like creature under one of the reptile tins, clear wings about 15-20mm long. I have a poor photo if anyone would like to try to ID it. It might not even be a moth...
